Last year my sister Olivia put together the most fun idea! With her nephews in mind, she dreamt of a fun, engaging + interactive tablescape only fit for children! This resulted in the perfect mix of design, festivity + class. In the end, she created a table that even the adults would envy…with coloring placemats, extra ‘mallows in every hot cocoa mug + the cutest spray painted white winter animals. Even a 10 month old knew his place at this table. Can’t you see his delight? Who wouldn’t want to sit at the kiddo table this holiday season?!

And the best part? Not only will your kids feel so honored + extra included at your holiday celebrations this year but this was SUPER easy for YOU to put together! We used things we already had like the Christmas trees from Target + the gold reindeer candlesticks found years ago at a thrift store. This the perfect opportunity to use up extra wrapping paper scraps for small boxes as ‘gift centerpieces’; re-use old crayons and peel off the paper; spray paint a couple of your kids old play animals [they will never know, right?]; print a fun color sheet placemat like the one found here to keep your kids busy for a bit while you enjoy adult conversation at the non-kid table ;). So many thoughtful, intentional pieces to this tablescape - you can’t go wrong!

Thanks Olivia, for styling this perfect children’s activity table!

Did you create a festive, holiday kids table? Be sure to tag us so we can see YOUR creations!

Say hello to this cute little guy, Andy! Can he get any sweeter? Um, no. :) When there is awesome natural light, a newborn that is fed and sleeps the ENTIRE session and fun prop additions that are significant to the parents, you know it will be an ideal shoot.  I love these shots of baby A -- especially because they include elements that reflect their life [Aggie alums, Toy Story, & Seminary textbooks]. Loved capturing these moments of new life for first time parents! Hug your babies extra today, everyone!

Documenting pregnant bellies and bumps is something that I think is so beautiful! After all, becoming first time parents is such a HUGE life change and an event in life that is so miraculous and mysterious! This seminary couple wanted to capture their third trimester and first pregnancy by exploring 'outside' of the city of Dallas. So we made our way to White Rock Lake and caught some prime sun.  Check out this excited daddy & momma-to-be!

Meet the Baileys - a family of [almost] four with so much life and love one another. J is a typical little boy, ALL toddler who loves to run around, play and explore.  This sweet family has been through a lot with their son.  J was born with HLHS but he is one strong two year old dude, that's for sure.  J is a Heart Hero, with a showcase of beads identifying every surgery, transfusion, IV, and poke.  His mom said it best, "he has half a heart and a rockin' scar showing how brave he is!" What a joy it is to be able to capture the stories of families through photography and specifically celebrate the health and happiness of J!

Last week I traveled to Minnesota to shoot a wedding and I got to sneak in a newborn session with baby Jacob!  What made this shoot extra special is that my mom was there to assist with baby placement and make amazing suggestions for backdrops and props.  When you mix the help of my mom, all the silly facial expressions of this small human and my dad's amazingly green lawn it makes for a perfect summer newborn session in Minnesota!

A new life is ONE. INCREDIBLE. MIRACLE....But TWO new lives? It's pretty unbelievable.  Wrapping your head around how carefully each one of those tiny humans was thoughtfully and maticulously crafted in their sweet mommy's body is unfathomable...twenty teeny toes, two little noses, two sets of precious lips, twenty fragile fingers. All these things can only point to a greater, Heavenly Father who created them perfectly and wonderfully! Photos just don't do justice to their size, beauty and preciousness. I (almost) have baby fever! Congrats to our dear friends, Eric & Kasey.  You made cute kids! Thanks for letting Zac and I sneak a peek at your neat family of four (well six-- Can't leave Toby Washington and Henry Theodore out)! xxoo

Have you ever wondered, "What does the fox say?" He says, "I'm grateful for my family, my mom and my dad. My sweet friend Piper takes me everywhere and even includes me in family photos."  Meet the Foleys - another wonderful seminary family.  They have an incredible story and one precious/cute kiddo!  P.S. That sun though!

Check out this sweet family! This handsome munchkin wanted to show off his walking (mostly running skills).  But. his. smile. -- melts hearts! It's been a privilege to be able to meet so many families through photography here in Dallas.  Kiddos are only little once and they grow and change at a crazy fast rate.  So freezing these moments for families who are in similar ministry training programs at an affordable rate has been a joy!  Scroll through the Wiesner's session from a couple weeks ago...
